We all know we dont like to feel anxious, we want to change that as quickly as possible and preferably without having to have 'therapy' that involves feeling worse first. Our aim is from session one, to begin the process of 'retraining your brain' so that anxiety doesnt get out of control and you will feel more 'in control'. Subsequent sessions boost the confidence and assertiveness that pushes anxiety away for ever.

Anxiety is a very unpleasant feeling, experienced often in the stomach area but affecting the whole body. Some anxiety in life is expected and normal, there is a concern however, if the anxiety is prolonged and begins to interfere with everyday life.
What is anxiety?
Anxiety is the feeling of unease or nervousness that we expect to experience before a stressful situation such as an exam or during a stressful time like moving house. Useful anxiety is explained by the paragraph on Stress but any amount of anxiety that does not relate to a stressful situation, or continues for a long time or begins to interfere with normal life, is considered abnormal. It is estimated that 1 in every 10 people will suffer with abnormal anxiety.
Some of the obvious symptoms of anxiety are as follows:
- Upset stomach
- Stomach discomfort
- Palpitations
- Shortness of breath
- Insomnia
- Irritability
- Poor concentration

Feeling out of control
There are some physical causes of anxiety and so assessment from a medical practitioner should precede any other form of consultation.
We work with people who have delayed treatment for anxiety believing it to be untreatable or not necessary to seek assistance. The problem with delaying treatment is the problem is often worse and over time has been compounded, it really is worth seeking help sooner rather than later.
Types of treatment available for anxiety
We use NLP, Tapping, Positive Psychology, Coaching and Hypnosis to teach you how to stop anxiety. We know that anxiety is a malfunction and not necessarily due to a serious tragic life history and should be viewed initially as an ineffective programme - a bad habit that you inadvertently trained in and can train out. The mind has simply begun to overprotect where there is no need to do so. Once the anxiety is abating, the next step is to further increase confidence and positive thinking. Usually 3-4 sessions is average. If there is a need for further sessions to resolve underlying issues, this will only take place as and when the client is ready and it is deemed productive to do so.
